SEAT Club: Graphic Des.

Intro To Canva Design Software


In this class, students will learn how to access and use the basic functionalities of the graphic design software (i.e. Canva).


Vector vs Raster Files


This class will not only teach students what pixels are, but it will also help them identify as well as understand the difference between Raster images and Vector images.


Creating Color Schemes


This class covers Elements Of Design, such as Color and Texture.  Students will learn about Tints in order to first explore color schemes, and then have the practice creating their own color schemes using 2 to 3 different colors.  During this class, students will be tasked with formulating a 2 to 3-color scheme, and then identifying images that reflects their colors.


Layout For A Product Marketing Ad


This class continues covering Elements Of Design, by teaching students how to effectively use Points, Lines, and Planes to create layouts.  Students will practice this skill by creating a Product Ad Layout with the Canva software.


Magazine Cover For Target Audience


This class introduces students to the Design Process by covering the importance of Brainstorming, Communicating with Clients, Considering the Audience, Promotion, and Ethics.  Students will work in teams to create a Magazine Cover for an instructor-assigned target audience using the Canva software.


Restoring Damaged Photos


This class revisits basic Elements Of Design, by covering Balance, Contrast, and Saturation.  Students will practice applying these elements to images in order to learn how to restore damaged and low-quality photos using the Canva software.
