SEAT Club: Coding
Pre-Defined Actions
In this online coding class, the
LIVE
Coding Instructor will show students how events can add flexibility to pre-written algorithms. By distinguishing between events and actions, students will gain a deeper understanding of how events drive program execution and enable dynamic interactions. By the end of the lesson, students will be proficient in recognizing and utilizing events in programming, enhancing their problem-solving and computational thinking skills.
Event-Driven Actions
In this online coding class, the
LIVE
Coding Instructor will teach students that events play a crucial role in computer programs. To deepen their understanding of events, students will create a game where their character moves across the screen, makes noises, and reacts to obstacles based on user-initiated events. Ultimately, students will not only have created their own game, but also learned to customize it by changing the visuals or rules, showcasing their creativity and understanding of event-driven programming.
Intro To Binary
In this online coding class, the
LIVE
Coding Instructor will introduce students to the fundamental concept of binary, which is how computers store and interpret information. Through hands-on activities and interactive exercises, students will learn how information is represented in binary code and gain insight into how computers read and process data.
Binary II
In this online coding class, the
LIVE
Coding Instructor will reinforce students' understanding of binary concepts by delving into the different digital units used to measure data storage: bits, bytes, and megabytes. Students will explore websites, apps, and devices, in order to learn about the various programming languages used to develop their code and gain more insight into how data is stored and processed in different digital environments.
Final Course Project
In this online coding class, the
LIVE
Coding Instructor will oversee students' creation and design of their own project, using a step-by-step process. Through this journey, students will learn valuable problem-solving skills as they overcome obstacles such as time constraints or bugs, and they will learn to use a planned design as a blueprint for their creation. At the conclusion of this course, students will not only have significantly developed their coding skills, but also gained confidence in their ability to bring their creative ideas to life through coding..
